The Christian Diocesan website for Rochester, Kent.

Type of site

A simple HTML/Java website designed on a tight budget with the facility for the client to make their own updates..

New site to be uploaded, TBA

At that time of designing the website for the Diocese the staff were keen to avoid the use of CSS code to completely format their website due to historical issues with previous web designers.

Our job was to design a very simple website to a very tight budget using just HTML and basic CSS styling. The other reason for this approach was that they wanted their own staff to make regular website updates using Dreamweaver as their HTML editor. As such, they were competent with HTML but were concerned that CSS code may cause ongoing issues simply due to their lack of knowledge with CSS technology.

Indeed this approach has worked well for the last four years. Some time ago we were asked to create a new website using the same HTML format. The new site is extremely large and makes use of 'Java' applications to present data etc. The gallery area makes use of 'Flash' for interatice presentations. Our example, here, was in use for over 5 years prior to being passed to their own in-house team.
